The link road between between Onuebum and Otuoke, the hometown of former President Goodluck Jonathan in Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa State, has been devastated by flood.
The road is the shortest route to Ogbia town for many motorists coming from the Azikoro axis of Yenagoa, the state capital.
The road, which serves as a link road to the Otuoke community, which hosts a Federal University with a large student population, was buried under the flood.
While most natives have resorted to the use of big trucks and bigger vehicles to commute from the community, other motorists especially commercial vehicles plying the route through the Azikoro axis, are now forced to go through the Elebele-Emeyal flank.
LEADERSHIP’s visit to the area revealed that several car owners making a U-turn on getting to the flooded portion of the road for fear of being swept off by the current.
Also, restaurant operators and palm sellers along the route have been displaced by the surging flood.
A driver who simply identified himself as Dadiowei told this reporter that he and fellow drivers had since abandoned the Azikoro-Agbura-Onuebum-Otuoke route because of the huge flood.
